How do I care for my finish?

We will leave you with a full set of printed instructions for care of your newly refinished bathtub or other fixture. A few important points to remember are that during the first 7-10 days, the finish is still curing, so it is best to take special care during this period and keep use to a minimum. Going forward, it will be best to clean your tub lightly, but in greater frequency. For example, clean lightly a couple times per week, instead of waiting for a month when only hard scrubbing will remove the inevitable build-up. Additionally, soap scum and other residue can trap water beneath it on the surface, and over time deteriorate the finish. Use only non-abrasive and non-corrosive cleaning products. Please avoid storing soap and other items directly on the surface, use a rack of some sort. Any standing water can deteriorate this finish and your bathtub (this is, in fact, often a reason that we are called in to refinish a bathtub). Any leaky faucets should be repaired by a qualified professional ASAP. The caulk seal around your tub should be water tight and maintained. If there is ever any break or holes in your caulk, they should be sealed immediately so as to avoid water getting around the side of the tub and possibly between the tub and the new finish.

Bathtub Refinishing Services In Milford

Bathtub Refinishing Milford MI

Whether you want your bathtub to match your new color scheme, or you just want to look at a brand new tub - we can help! Many realtors and home appraisers will agree that a white bathtub and tile scheme will add value to not only your bathroom, but your home in general! If your bathtub is approximately 60 in. x 30 in., with one or more sides against a wall, it is considered to be "standard". This is the most common type of tub, but no matter your size or type, we guarantee we can help!

Steps Taken to Refinish a Bathtub

  • The bathtub is scrubbed clean with a powerful detergent that will remove any soap film build-up or residual film left behind by household cleaners.

  • The tub is rinsed and dried completely to remove all moisture.

  • Paper masking is installed around the tub to prevent overspray from getting on the tiles. Other areas of the bathroom will be masked off with plastic if necessary.

  • Bonding agent is applied to the surface of the tub.

  • High Gloss Acrylic Urethane topcoat is applied

  • During our resurfacing process, a ventilator is used which helps remove overspray and fumes from the bathroom area. It pulls the air from the room and with it the overspray and dust particles. This piece of equipment is placed in the window of the bathroom, or if there is no window in the bathroom, a hose is attached and directed to the nearest window or door. All materials are applied using an HVLP spray system.

Reviews:

Exceptional Excellent Job! I was redoing my half bath and wanted an option for my plain beige Formica counter. I contacted Surface Solutions and Scott came out with samples, pricing and explained the process. I chose a flecked paint and they were able to meet my timetable and come out to do the work within the week. Their prices were also very reasonable. Scott came out and redid my counter top - it looks fantastic! The whole process only took about an hour. He came in and was professional and courteous. It gave a whole new look to my bathroom and was a very affordable option. I'm planning to have Surface Solutions do my master bath next!! C. Galesewiczon

I was very satisfied with the Safeway Step that Scott and Doug installed on my cast iron tub, I know it creates a lot of dust and they cleaned up very well, Good Job! Don Wiseman, Rockwood, MI.
