Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If your question isn't answered here, please feel free to contact us to speak to a member of our team.
How soon can I use the tub after it has been resurfaced?
The tub is ready to use 24 hours after the job is completed. DO NOT CLEAN THE TUB DURING THIS PERIOD. Especially during the first 48 hours, extra care should be taken to make sure that items such as toys, razors, or other personal hygiene items are not banged on or scrape the surface. It takes 7-10 days for a tub to be fully cured and achieve maximum hardness. The refinishing tech that performs your resurfacing will leave you with printed instructions to help you understand how to get the most out of your newly refinished tub.
Will there be fumes or odors from the process?
While we make every effort to keep fumes to a minimum by using industrial grade exhaust equipment, there will be some noticeable odor, especially immediately after the job. These odors will dissipate throughout the day. You will need to keep the bathroom door closed after we leave.
Bathtub Reglazing Services Around Redford
We can refinish your standard bathtub for your aesthetic pleasure, or to match a new color scheme. Many realtors and home appraisers will agree that a white bathtub and tile scheme will add value to not only your bathroom, but your home in general! If your bathtub is approximately 60 in. x 30 in., with one or more sides against a wall, it is considered to be "standard". This is the most common type of tub, but no matter your size or type, we guarantee we can help!
Steps Taken to Refinish a Bathtub
The bathtub is scrubbed clean with a powerful detergent that will remove any soap film build-up or residual film left behind by household cleaners.
The tub is rinsed and dried completely to remove all moisture.
Paper masking is installed around the tub to prevent overspray from getting on the tiles. Other areas of the bathroom will be masked off with plastic if necessary.
Bonding agent is applied to the surface of the tub.
High Gloss Acrylic Urethane topcoat is applied
During our resurfacing process, a ventilator is used which helps remove overspray and fumes from the bathroom area. It pulls the air from the room and with it the overspray and dust particles. This piece of equipment is placed in the window of the bathroom, or if there is no window in the bathroom, a hose is attached and directed to the nearest window or door. All materials are applied using an HVLP spray system.
